Boom Donovan eyes global success

London-based reggae artist Boom Donovan is expanding his international reach through a series of new musical projects and physical media releases. The singer is currently focusing on diversifying his discography to appeal to a broader range of demographics.

As part of this initiative, Donovan has released a vinyl version of his album, Why. According to the artist, the decision to produce a vinyl edition was intended to evoke a sense of nostalgia and honor the evolution of the reggae genre. He reported that the launch event for the vinyl release received significant support.

Donovan’s recent work also includes the project Student Of The Ghetto, which explores themes related to inner-city life. Drawing from his personal background in Trench Town and Waterhouse, Donovan stated that the album aims to reflect the experiences and wisdom found within those communities.

Looking ahead, the artist is preparing an album titled Boom Donovan Sings Twelve Hits Of Hugh Mundell. The project serves as a tribute to the late reggae singer Hugh Mundell and will feature covers of tracks such as Jah Fire, Great Tribulation, and Africa Must Be Free. Like his previous release, this album is slated for a vinyl pressing to support the preservation of reggae culture.

In addition to his album projects, Donovan has gained traction on Jamaican radio with his single, Politician. The artist credited producer Jack Scorpio and various sound systems, including Natty Frontline, Jah Revelation, and Coxone Outernational, for their role in promoting his music.
