A grim discovery has been made in the Icacos Wetlands. The Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the Cedros Police Station, and the Air Support Unit, located a body during a search operation. The teams were engaged in an intense search for a missing person, Indar Rampersad, a 38-year-old resident of Icacos who has been missing since April 30th, 2026.
The body, which was shrouded in dry grass, bore signs of decomposition, pointing to an extended period since death. A particularly disturbing detail was the separation of the skull from the rest of the body. As of now, law enforcement agencies are working on the identification of the body to confirm if it indeed belongs to the missing Rampersad.
The grim discovery underscores the importance of the relentless work that search and rescue teams, along with law enforcement, undertake in the face of such challenging situations. The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
