BOA Contract Renewals Delayed, Schools Face Pressure

Primary schools in Trinidad and Tobago are under increasing administrative strain due to the delay in renewing Business Operations Assistants (BOA) contracts. Despite the Ministry of Education finalising the necessary paperwork, the matter awaits Cabinet approval. The National Primary Schools Principals’ Association (NAPSPA) has raised concerns over operational risks and inefficiencies caused by the absence of BOAs in some schools since June 2025. NAPSPA executives have met with education officials, advocating on behalf of the BOAs whose roles are crucial to school operations. The Ministry of Education has confirmed the completion of the necessary paperwork for contract renewals, but Cabinet approval remains outstanding, causing anxiety among principals and BOAs.
