The visit highlights Gates’ ongoing interest in African development and his foundation’s work in global health and poverty alleviation. Rwanda has been a key partner for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which has supported various health initiatives in the country.
Gates, whose net worth is estimated at $106 billion, is one of the world’s most prominent philanthropists. His itinerary includes meetings with government officials and field visits to projects in the health and agriculture sectors. The trip is expected to strengthen ties between Rwanda and the Gates Foundation.
