Biely dom odmietol špekulácie o chystanom odchode Rubia a Hegsetha

The White House has denied reports that U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are planning to leave the administration of President Donald Trump after Republicans lost the majority in both chambers of Congress in Tuesday’s elections. The statement was issued by the White House and was reported by the BBC. American media outlets have reported that Hegseth is facing calls for his removal because of his approach to the war in Iran that Trump launched at the end of February. The conflict, which has driven up oil prices, was cited by some analysts as a factor that helped Democrats win the election. A Republican congressman whose term ends this year threatened to push an impeachment vote against Hegseth next week. In a video statement released by Hegseth, the Defense Secretary defended his actions and condemned the attempts to remove him. “You know, they’re attacking me. They’re attacking us because we are effective,” he said. “They won’t succeed. We will not back down,” added the Pentagon chief. Rubio has denied reports that he is considering leaving the administration before the end of Trump’s term or before a potential presidential run in 2028. In an interview with The New York Times, Rubio said that working for Trump until the end of his term has always been his plan. “I love the work I do,” he said. The White House and the State Department have called the rumors that Rubio would leave the administration before Trump’s term ends “misinformation.” Trump, in an interview with ABC News, said he wants Hegseth to remain at the Pentagon, despite the calls for his removal. Trump and Vice President J.D. have blamed Republicans for the Iran war, which the Trump administration launched without congressional approval. Trump later praised Hegseth in a press briefing, calling his work “fantastic.”
