Belarusian MPs Demand Cuba’s Removal from US Terrorism List

The Belarus-Cuba parliamentary friendship group has formally demanded that Cuba be removed from the United States list of state sponsors of terrorism. In a statement reported by Escambray, the group called the designation unjust and harmful to Cuba’s international relations. The US list currently includes Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria. Belarusian parliamentarians argued that Cuba should not be on the list, citing its cooperation with other nations and its peaceful foreign policy. The demand adds to growing international criticism of the US designation, which has been condemned by many countries as a tool of political pressure. Cuba has consistently rejected the designation, saying it hinders its economy and normalizes unilateral sanctions.
