A beachgoer at Madamas, Paria Bay was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon. The incident unfolded around 12:30 p.m. while the man was amidst a group of people. The robber, dressed in a green overall and black mask, approached the group from the western side of the beach. Armed with an object resembling a firearm, he demanded the victim’s cellphone worth $3,000. Fearing for his life, the man surrendered his phone. The robber fled east along the beach. The victim reported the incident at the Blanchisseuse Police Station.
