Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap on Saturday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for development projects worth over Rs 44 crore in Dantewada district’s Dhurli and Hiroli villages. The projects, funded under NMDC Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aim to transform basic infrastructure in these remote tribal areas.
In Dhurli, Rs 33.60 crore will be spent on road construction, solar high-mast lights, solar dual pumps, and street lights. Hiroli will receive Rs 10.50 crore for similar amenities. MP Kashyap said the CSR and District Mineral Trust (DMF) funds are being used transparently for public welfare and regional development.
Highlighting the government’s vision, Kashyap noted that Bastar is witnessing rapid expansion of roads, rail, health, and education facilities. The target is to make Bastar the country’s most developed tribal division by 2031. He emphasized equal priority to peace and development in Naxal-affected areas.
The projects include construction of 17 cement roads, 15 solar high-mast lights, 24 solar dual pumps, and 3 solar street lights across Hiroli, Samalwar, and Cholnar villages. NMDC General Manager Kodali Sridhar said the company will continue prioritizing local needs through CSR and plans to organize sports competitions like kabaddi for youth engagement.
