Barefoot Bandits Strike Again

On July 9th, 2025, a 21-year-old man from Maloney was robbed while waiting for a woman in a secluded area off Dump Road in La Retreat, Arima. The victim arrived around 12:30 p.m. to meet someone he knew as Jasmine and called her to confirm his arrival, waiting in a track off the roadway for her to join him. However, during his wait, two men approached him and announced a robbery. One of the suspects was described as a slim-built male of African descent, with a dark complexion, wearing a white vest and ¾ pants, and was reportedly armed with what appeared to be a firearm. The second suspect, of East Indian descent, also slender, had long plaited hair and wore a grey hoodie and ¾ pants, brandishing a chinee chopper. The victim was robbed of $400 in cash and a Samsung A20S smartphone worth $700. After the robbery, the assailants fled the scene in an unknown direction. The case is currently under investigation by PC Renne of the Arima police.
