Ballot Paper Printing Reaches 86% Ahead of Zambia’s 2026 General Election

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced that printing of ballot papers for the 2026 General Election has reached 86 percent, with preparations for their shipment to the country already underway.

The update was provided by Lakshmanan Ganapathy, General Manager of Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing, during a tour of the company’s printing plant in Dubai. ECZ Commissioners, including MacDonald Chipenzi, were present to inspect the progress.

Officials say the remaining 14 percent of ballot papers are expected to be completed shortly, after which the consignment will be shipped to Zambia. The ECZ has assured the public that all measures are in place to ensure timely delivery and secure handling of the ballots.

This milestone comes as the nation gears up for the 2026 polls, with logistics and transparency remaining key concerns for stakeholders.
