Baguio City recorded a temperature of 18 °C at 5 a.m. on 28 October 2026, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). The forecast for the day calls for a maximum temperature of 26.2 °C, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the northeast monsoon. The Department of Health (DOH) Cordillera Office issued a public advisory on the same day, reminding residents of the health risks associated with the Amihan season, which typically runs from November to March. The agency warned that flu, influenza and common colds can cause fever, coughing, nasal congestion and body aches. It advised people to wash their hands regularly, rest at home when experiencing symptoms, and consume fruits and vegetables. The DOH also highlighted the risk of allergic rhinitis, which can cause severe sneezing, itchy eyes and clear nasal discharge that may worsen in dusty or cold air. The agency recommended wearing a mask outdoors or in dusty environments, keeping surroundings clean, and taking antihistamines when needed. Additionally, the advisory addressed atopic dermatitis (eczema), noting that dry, itchy skin and rashes can worsen in cold, dry weather. The DOH suggested using moisturizer daily, avoiding long baths and harsh soaps, and staying hydrated. Residents were urged to consult the nearest health center for proper guidance and medical care.
