Πάτρα: Με δρακόντεια μέτρα ασφαλείας ξεκινά αύριο η δική της Ειρήνης Μουρτζούκου για τον θάνατο τριών βρεφών

Patras, Greece – The Mixed Criminal Court of Patras will begin proceedings tomorrow against 25‑year‑old Eirini Mourtzoukou, who faces serious charges for the deaths of three infants, two of whom were her own children. Mourtzoukou is currently held at the Metagwogon detention centre. She will be transferred to the courthouse under a tightly organised security escort, with police forces positioned both inside and around the court building to ensure a smooth process. The case involves three infant deaths that occurred over a period of roughly three years: a six‑month‑old baby in February 2021, who was a friend of Mourtzoukou; her first child, a 19‑day‑old infant, who died in June 2022; and * her second daughter, Maria‑Frederika, a two‑month‑old, who died in October 2023. According to court documents, Mourtzoukou has admitted to the acts that led to the deaths. The court will examine witness statements, forensic reports and all evidence gathered during the investigative phase. A separate criminal investigation is ongoing concerning the death of a child named Panagiotakis in Amaliada; this matter is not part of the trial scheduled in Patras. The case is expected to attract significant public attention, as it is one of the most serious criminal proceedings in recent Greek history. The court will determine the charges against Mourtzoukou and the appropriate legal outcome.
