On 5 November, the Supreme Prosecutor delivered his testimony and was cross‑examined before the Permanent Criminal Court in Paphos as part of the trial of the incumbent Mayor of Paphos, Faidon Faidonos. The prosecution’s main examination was followed by the defense’s cross‑examination. A well‑known lawyer, who is alleged to have been involved in the complainant’s testimony during the period in which the alleged offence was committed, also gave evidence. The mayor’s defense team, led by Christos Pourgouridis and Nontas Korakidis, is awaiting confirmation of whether Aristodimou will appear as a witness in the next hearing, scheduled for 10 November. The trial is ongoing before the Permanent Criminal Court in Paphos, with prosecutors estimating that the case will be concluded before the end of 2026. Faidon Faidonos faces five charges: rape; indecent assault on a woman; indecent assault on a woman with an additional act; assault causing actual bodily harm; and the administration of a drug or other substance capable of incapacitating a person’s resistance. He has denied all allegations.
