On Monday morning, two‑way traffic in the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended after a cargo ship suffered an engine failure, the Turkish Coast Guard announced. The incident involved the 139‑metre long vessel Alisuvar Mammadov, registered under the flags of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The ship had departed from the Bulgarian port of Varna and broke down near the Kanlija district of Istanbul. Rescue tugboats were dispatched to assist the vessel.
