Okinawa Space Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Space Inc., announced that it will enter the retail store operation business by opening a select shop called scape general store in Nago City. The shop will open in December at Ake Mie Tera, a retail space operated by the joint venture YAMBARU GATEWAY PARK (represented by YugaFu Holdings). The new store will offer a range of products that blend everyday life with tourism, including original apparel and accessories, local crafts such as yachimun (clay pottery) and Ryukyu glass, and food items. Product selection and store branding were developed in partnership with the Okinawan media outlet Champlu, which focuses on contemporary Okinawan culture. Okinawa Space has previously been involved in interior design, construction, and leasing of commercial facilities. The company said that by gaining practical experience in store operations—covering product selection, layout design, customer attraction, and profitability improvement—it will strengthen its ability to support clients and enhance the value it delivers. After the store opens, Okinawa Space plans to apply the insights gained to expand into broader commercial facility management and other related services.
