दसैँ मनाएर फर्किने यात्रुको चाप बढ्दै

Panchkosi (Dailekh) – Kati 8, 2079 After the Dashain festival, a surge in passenger traffic has been observed at the Dailekh bus park as residents return to their workplaces. Employees, students, laborers and business people who celebrated the festival in the village headquarter (gaunghar) are now heading back to their respective jobs, schools and businesses across the country, leading to increased movement toward Kathmandu and other districts of Karnali Province. The district traffic police have stepped up their operations to manage the rising traffic flow. Senior Deputy Inspector Jay Singh Gurule of the Dailekh Traffic Police Office said that the number of travelers leaving the district has been increasing daily, prompting heightened road surveillance. “The load on both long‑distance and short‑distance public transport has risen,” he added. “We are intensifying monitoring across the district to ensure smooth travel, manage vehicle congestion, and reduce the risk of road accidents.” Gurule explained that the simultaneous return of many passengers after the festival has amplified traffic on the roads, necessitating more effective traffic management. “The traffic volume from Dailekh to various districts and beyond the country has increased,” he noted. “By tightening monitoring, we aim to keep the roads orderly and provide a safe environment for all travelers.” According to the Dailekh Traffic Police Office, during the Dashain period the district recorded 3,203 vehicles entering and 2,905 vehicles leaving. In total, 39,049 passengers departed the district for destinations outside Dailekh, while 27,649 passengers left from the Dailekh headquarters alone. The traffic surge has been particularly noticeable on routes through Tallo Dungeshwar, Kali Kot, Bajura, Humla, Mugu, and Jumla, which are key corridors for travelers returning from the festival.
