Doncaster, UK – The final flat‑racing event of the British season, the two‑year‑old Grade 1 Future Stakes, was run yesterday at Doncaster Racecourse. The result was widely regarded as the decisive factor in the championship race for trainer of the year. Two trainers who were in contention for the title, Yao Bo Ren and Ba Yì Dìng, each secured a victory. Yao Bo Ren’s colt, Bì Tiān Hóng Shān, ridden by jockey Mike Wain, began the race in the rear of the field. In the closing stages the horse made a strong move, overtaking Ba Yì Dìng’s runner Jiā Rì and winning by three lengths. After the race, Yao Bo Ren praised the colt, a product of the Fang Gao’er breeding operation, and said the horse would be a key contender in major races next year. The win also confirmed Yao Bo Ren as the champion trainer of the year. For Mike Wain, the victory marked his first Grade 1 win since returning from injury. He subsequently travelled to Australia to ride Yao Ben Xian’s colt, Cóng Bù Tuǒ Xié, in the Melbourne Cup, before returning to Hong Kong for a guest ride.
