Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has ordered the implementation of measures to prohibit graffiti in cities across the country. The announcement was made by the Akorda press service following a directive issued to Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek.
President Tokayev characterized the act of painting on public buildings as unacceptable. He has instructed officials to develop legislative and regulatory frameworks to enforce a total ban on such activities. The president further demanded that authorities take strict action against individuals found defacing public infrastructure.
