Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a trilateral meeting in New York with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohieddin Salem and Massad Boulos, a senior advisor to the United States President for Arab and African affairs. The discussion focused on the ongoing conflict in Sudan and efforts to restore security and stability in the country.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the participants explored ways to build upon existing initiatives aimed at de-escalating the situation. The talks also addressed creating conditions necessary for a sustainable political settlement that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people and protects national interests.

During the meeting, Minister Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of maintaining Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He further highlighted the importance of preserving the country’s national institutions and called for intensified regional and international efforts to resolve the conflict through dialogue and negotiation.
