Internal disputes have emerged within the Taqaddum coalition during its delegation’s visit to New York for events held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. According to sources cited by Al-Sudani, tensions arose between coalition leader Abdalla Hamdok and several delegation members regarding disparities in accommodation standards and transportation arrangements.
The sources indicated that the conflict intensified after some delegation members protested being booked into lower-rated hotels without dedicated transportation services within the city. These members reportedly requested that their accommodation arrangements be equal to those provided for Hamdok, who stayed in a five-star hotel.
In response to the objections, Hamdok stated that the costs for his own travel and accommodation in New York were paid entirely from his personal funds. He maintained that his expenses did not impose any financial burden on the delegation’s budget or the coalition’s resources.
