Calls have been made for the Matugama and Dodangoda Pradeshiya Sabhas to collaborate on the preservation and management of the Rannagala Waterfall. Proponents of the initiative suggest that the site requires a dedicated staff to ensure it remains clean and well-maintained.
To fund these management efforts, it has been proposed that an entry fee be implemented through a ticketing system. Under this plan, the revenue generated from ticket sales would be shared between the Matugama and Dodangoda local government authorities to cover operational costs.
