The dog-friendly event Shimotsuma Wan Park Blue, organized by the event’s executive committee, opened on September 19 at Beer Spa Shimotsuma in Nagatsuka-otsu, Shimotsuma City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The event provides a space for dog owners to interact and features various vendors selling pet-related products.
The venue hosts 28 booths offering items such as dog clothing, accessories, and treats. Attendees have used the event to share information about their pets and socialize with other dog owners.
Masashi Shirato, a 27-year-old visitor from Minamihara, Shimotsuma, noted that the event provided a positive opportunity to interact with other dogs.
Organizers announced that the event is canceled for September 20 and 21 due to the approach of a typhoon. The final day, scheduled for September 22, will proceed depending on weather conditions.
The event series began in 2024 at a park in Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture, and has previously been held at Senba Park in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, in July and September of this year. Additional events are scheduled to take place in Shimotsuma on November 7 and 8.
