Security forces in Laayoune dismantled an illicit alcohol production operation on Thursday, September 17. Members of the anti-gang brigade, operating under the provincial judicial police, arrested a 23-year-old man following a surveillance operation near his residence in the Al-Wifaq neighborhood.
Authorities apprehended the suspect in possession of 45 small bottles, each containing 33 centiliters of traditional distilled alcohol known as mahia, which were prepared for distribution. The operation also led to the discovery of a clandestine laboratory used for the production and distillation of the illicit substance.
