Egypt’s beach soccer national team played its first friendly match on Saturday, 19 September 2023, against the Alexandria team as part of its preparation for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The match took place during the team’s closed training camp, which is being held in the coastal governorate from Thursday 17 September to Tuesday 22 September. The camp includes morning and evening training sessions, followed by friendly matches to raise the players’ technical and physical readiness.
Co‑coach Ahmed Abdel Razek announced the squad for the Alexandria camp, which will run from 17 September to 22 September in preparation for the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Senegal and the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
The squad list announced by Abdel Razek includes the following players: Mohamed Fouzi (Al‑Tarom), Abdel Aziz Sabah (Farko), Mohamed Al‑Sayed and Yahya Atef (Nerhadu), Ibrahim Hassan and Abdel Rahman Shafie (Al‑Ruwad), Hassan Mohammed (Behtim), Mustafa Ahmed (Ambrozou), Ahmed Shahat (Markaz Shabab Abu Hamad), Abdel Kader Qadoura (Burfouad), Karim Sid (Al‑Maqassa), Al‑Husseini Taha (Egypt Insurance), Ismail Bahjat (Banha), Hossam Paulo (Smenoud), Ahmed Tamsah (Kaskada), Mohamed Abdel Nabi (Oranj), Abdel Rahman Hamidu (Atfih), Mohamed Sid (Gomorak Port Said), and Hassan Shobki Issa and Ihab Ahmed Ali (Al‑Aluminium).
Abdel Razek also expressed gratitude to the Egyptian Football Association’s board, headed by Engineer Hany Abou‑Rida, and to the association’s technical director, Shawki Gharib, for their continued support of the beach soccer team as it prepares for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Senegal and the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
He added that the team combines experience and youth, with a distinctive mix of players eager to compete in continental and global tournaments in the coming years.
Following the friendly against Alexandria, the team will play a second friendly match against the Marine Corps on Sunday, 20 September, to further enhance their readiness.
