Bangladesh Bank has introduced a special pre-financing scheme worth 20 billion BDT aimed at reviving closed industrial and service sector enterprises. The initiative is designed to provide financial support to businesses that have ceased operations, facilitating their return to productivity.

Under the terms of the scheme, the maximum interest rate for loans at the customer level has been set at 7 percent. Additionally, borrowers are granted a grace period, allowing them to defer interest payments for the first six months following the disbursement of the loan.

The details of the program were issued by the Banking Regulation and Policy Department-1 of the central bank on Thursday, September 17.
