The husband of a Chinese translator who has been reported missing has publicly addressed the discovery of her damaged passport. In comments reported by Protothema, the man stated that if he were involved in criminal activity, he would have destroyed the document entirely rather than leaving it in its current state.
According to the husband, the passport was found to have been damaged by a document shredder. He expressed skepticism regarding the circumstances surrounding the condition of the travel document, suggesting that the nature of the damage does not align with the actions of someone attempting to conceal their identity or commit a crime.
The investigation into the disappearance of the translator remains ongoing. Authorities are currently examining the evidence, including the state of the recovered passport, as they work to determine the woman’s whereabouts.
