涉持兒少性虐待影像 梅根父親馬克爾佛州被捕

Thomas Markle, the father of former U.S. First Lady Meghan Markle, was arrested in Florida on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material. The arrest was made by federal agents in Lakeland, Florida, and the indictment was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on the same day. According to the indictment, the alleged material was stored in two rental storage units in Los Angeles that Markle had occupied since 2008. Federal agents, acting on a search warrant, seized approximately 78 items, including photographs, 35‑mm film, and books that allegedly contained images of a minor. The indictment charges Markle with one count of possession of child pornography, a felony that carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted. The U.S. Department of Justice said that if convicted, Markle could face a maximum 20‑year term. In a statement released by the Los Angeles federal prosecutor’s office, it was noted that Markle, who is a patient in a nursing home in Lakeland and uses a wheelchair, was granted bail. The conditions of his release include home confinement and electronic monitoring. An FBI spokesperson, identified in the statement as Kash Patel, said: “Mr. Markle is suspected of targeting innocent children and attempting to take away their innocence through his criminal conduct.” The statement also noted that the FBI had obtained a search warrant and conducted the raid on the storage units in Los Angeles. The Royal Family’s spokesperson and Meghan Markle’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
