Auroraligan på randen till sammanbrott

**Finnish Women’s Hockey League Faces Leadership Crisis**

The Auroraliiga, Finland’s top-tier women’s ice hockey league, is facing a period of significant instability ahead of the upcoming season. Observers have described the current situation as an acute crisis for the sport in Finland.

The league’s leadership underwent a major change in early August 2026 when Henni Laaksonen resigned from her position as league manager. Laaksonen, who served as the first-ever manager of the women’s league, held the role for three years. She has not publicly disclosed the reasons for her departure.

Following her resignation, it was announced on Sunday that Laaksonen has been appointed as the chief operating officer for the Pelicans’ men’s Liiga team.

The departure of the league’s inaugural manager has contributed to concerns regarding the future of the Auroraliiga as the domestic season approaches.
