Keron Ramkhalwhan, the attorney representing high-profile inmate Rajaee Ali, has vehemently denied allegations by senior police officials and the Commissioner of Police that he has been threatened by Ali. Ramkhalwhan and Anwar Hosein, his co-counsel, assert that recent news of threats to their safety are baseless and misleading. According to Ramkhalwhan, police officers from the Special Intelligence Unit visited him, claiming they had evidence of a credible threat to his life coming directly from Ali. Despite these claims, Ramkhalwhan insists he and Hosein have never been threatened by Ali or anyone else associated with him. Ramkhalwhan questioned the police’s motivations, suggesting that the propagation of these false accusations might be an attempt to impede legal representation and hinder access to justice in Trinidad and Tobago.
