India defeated Bangladesh by 114 runs in the women’s cricket semifinal of the Asian Games, held at the Korogi Athletic Park in Nagoya, Japan.
The Indian side finished on 195 for 4 in 20 overs, while Bangladesh were bowled out for 81 in 15.4 overs.
India’s opener Smriti Mandhana became the highest run‑scorer in women’s T20 international cricket, surpassing New Zealand all‑rounder Suzie Bates. Mandhana finished the match with 37 runs off 19 balls, bringing her career total to 4,788 runs from 171 innings.
Shafali Verma also starred for India, scoring 100 not out off 49 balls, with three fours and nine sixes. She reached her century on the final ball
