Arrest Made in San Juan Robbery

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred in San Juan on July 25, 2025. The arrest came after an intelligence-led operation by the North Eastern Division officers. The incident involved a 57-year-old man from Point Fortin and a 45-year-old man from San Juan, who were targeted after responding to an online ad for a silver vehicle listed at $30,000. They arranged to meet the seller at Zaman Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they were confronted by two armed men. One suspect brandished a firearm, robbing one victim of his mobile phone, wallet, and identification documents, while the second victim lost his phone, ID, and a backpack containing $30,200 in cash. The assailants fled on foot. On July 28, police, acting on intelligence, targeted the Upper Bushe Street area where they identified a suspect matching the description. During the search, they found two mobile phones and a brown wallet containing $2,702 in cash. The 38-year-old suspect from Calvary Hill, San Juan, was arrested and is currently in custody as investigations continue. The operation was coordinated by W/Ag/Snr. Supt. Guy-Alleyne and supported by the North Eastern Divisional Task Force.
