Argentina protestó ante Uruguay por el stand británico en la exposición rural que promociona las Islas Malvinas

Argentina lodged a formal protest with Uruguay over a British exhibit at a rural exposition that promoted the Falkland Islands.

The Argentine Embassy in Uruguay questioned the use of the name “Falklands” and the presence of representatives from the islands at the event. It also raised concerns about the location chosen by the British Embassy for the stand.

In response, the Uruguayan government first requested that official contacts with the British representatives be avoided. Later, it withdrew that communication, effectively ending the request.

Argentina’s complaint was directed to the Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citing the British stand’s promotion of the Falkland Islands as the main issue.

Both governments have not yet released further statements on the matter.
