Apede warns of ‘progressive setback’ in democracy, pushes institutional reform

The Panamanian Association of Business Executives (Apede) has put forward a three-pronged proposal to steer the country forward: building strong institutions, fostering human development, and projecting Panama internationally. In a statement, the group voiced alarm over what it called a ‘progressive setback in the quality of democracy’, pointing to visible institutional weakening. The proposal comes amid growing concerns over governance and public trust in Panama.
