The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are champions of the Caribbean Premier League for the first time after defeating the Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets in the 2026 final at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Jamaica posted 170 for nine after being sent in to bat, with Maaz Sadaqat producing a remarkable innings of 114. Sadaqat became the first player to score a century in a CPL final, but his efforts were not enough to secure the championship.
Antigua and Barbuda’s Sufiyan Muqeem played a major role in restricting Jamaica, taking four wickets for just 14 runs. His spell helped trigger a dramatic middle-order collapse, with the Kingsmen slipping from 110 for two to 113 for six.
The Falcons then made light work of the target.
Rahkeem Cornwall provided an explosive start before being dismissed in the opening over, while Evin Lewis contributed 38.
Amir Jangoo and Hassan Nawaz took control after Lewis’ dismissal, putting together an unbeaten 89-run partnership to carry the Falcons to 173 for two and seal an eight-wicket victory.
Jangoo finished unbeaten on 57, while Nawaz made an unbeaten 47 as the Falcons completed the chase in convincing fashion.
Muqeem was named Player of the Match for his four-wicket performance, while Falcons all-rounder Shadab Khan was named Player of the Tournament.
The victory marks a historic moment for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, who have now captured their first CPL championship in just their third season in the competition.
