Anika Berry presents alone after 450 misses awards segment

Anika Berry was left handling an unexpected awards-night moment alone after her scheduled co-presenter, Jamaican dancehall artiste 450, did not appear on stage for their segment at the Caribbean Music Awards.

According to Berry, the pair were supposed to present the Dennery Song of the Year award together, with a planned dialogue prepared for them on the teleprompter.

However, when the time came, Berry walked onto the stage without 450 and was faced with a script written for two presenters.

Berry later shared footage of the situation on Instagram on September 20, showing what was expected compared with what actually unfolded on stage.

“450, we waiting for you,” Berry said in the video before the footage switched to her onstage appearance, where she attempted to navigate the presentation alone.

With the scripted exchange no longer working as intended, Berry adjusted and continued with the presentation.

She made light of the situation in her Instagram post, captioning the video “Expectations vs reality.”

The Caribbean Music Awards officially introduced Dennery Song of the Year among its expanded categories for 2026, recognising music associated with Saint Lucia’s Dennery Segment movement. The ceremony formed part of the awards’ September 18 to 20 activities at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain. 450 and Berry were both listed among personalities involved in the 2026 event.

While Berry’s video documents her experience on stage, no independent explanation for 450’s absence from the presentation had been established at the time of publication.
