Angola Participates in SADC Qualifications Review Meeting

**Angola Takes Part in Regional Qualifications Framework Review in Zambia**

*Lusaka, Zambia – August 27, 2026* – A delegation from Angola’s National Qualifications Institute (INQ) began attending the third meeting of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Qualifications Framework (SADCQF) technical working group on Tuesday in Lusaka. The three‑day session, organized by SADC, is intended to deepen member states’ understanding of the technical instruments, tools and processes needed for regional accreditation and quality‑assurance activities.

According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Zambia, the working group will examine updates from participating countries on policies and practices related to the SADCQF. Topics under review include developments since February 2026 concerning national qualifications frameworks, lifelong learning initiatives, micro‑credentials, and artificial‑intelligence literacy. The agenda also calls for enhanced training for working‑group members on quality matters and the drafting of proposals for new regional SADC guidelines.

The INQ operates under Angola’s Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS) and is responsible for coordinating the country’s National Qualifications System, which facilitates the recognition and certification of professional competencies.

Representing Angola at the meeting are:

– **Isaías João**, Deputy Director‑General for Accreditation, Certification and Professional Equivalency Management at INQ.
– **Lourenço Zeferino Machado dos Santos**, INQ’s regional representative for the provinces of Huíla, Namibe, Cunene and Benguela.

The delegation’s participation reflects Angola’s ongoing commitment to aligning its qualifications framework with regional standards and to contributing to the development of a cohesive SADC qualifications system.
