Alison Hinds Speaks Out After Cayman Fiesta Chaos

Alison Hinds Speaks Out After Cayman Fiesta Chaos — Claims Promoter Was “Unprofessional, Disorganized, and Disrespectful”

Caribbean soca icon Alison Hinds has broken her silence after failing to perform at the recently held Cayman Fiesta, an event promoted by Reynolds Entertainment. In a strongly worded video message, Hinds said she was forced to withdraw from the show due to what she described as “unprofessionalism, disorganization and disrespect” from the promoters.

According to Hinds, she travelled to Cayman fully prepared to perform, but the promoters failed to meet key contractual obligations. She emphasized that her contract requires all business matters to be settled before she steps on stage.

“My contract states very clearly that business has to be taken care of before I touch that stage. Period. Full stop,” Hinds said. “I was there, I was ready. They simply did not do what they were supposed to do.”

Accommodation Issues and Unpaid Reservations

Hinds detailed additional problems that unfolded during her travel to and from the Cayman Islands. After the event, she and several other artists had to overnight in Jamaica before returning home. She said the promoter, identified as Tamika Reynolds of Reynolds Entertainment, assured her that hotel accommodations were fully secured.

However, when the group arrived in Jamaica, they were told their rooms were not paid for, and that a card on file had been declined. Several artists and team members were forced to cover accommodation costs themselves.

Hinds added that some artists did not even have confirmed flights home. While her own ticket and her assistant’s remained intact, her DJ’s return flight was incorrectly booked — scheduled to depart hours before the team had even left Cayman.

Event Claimed to Be a Failure

The soca star also described the event itself as poorly attended and badly planned. She said Cayman Fiesta clashed with the launch of Pirates Week, one of the Cayman Islands’ biggest national festivals.

“Why are you trying to have a major event during someone’s national festival?” she asked, calling it further evidence of the promoter’s lack of preparation.

Hinds Says the Promoter Should Compensate Affected Artists

The singer believes the promoter should reimburse every artist and crew member who had to dig into their pockets to cover hotel stays or replacement flights. She said the situation amounts to a breach of contract and could carry legal consequences.

“This is sue-worthy kind of stuff,” Hinds stated.

Apology to Fans in Cayman

Despite the ordeal, Hinds reserved her final message for the fans.

“I apologize to you, Cayman, for not being able to perform as I always do,” she said. “I am not a no-show artist, and I refuse to let anyone make me look like I just didn’t turn up.”

She warned fellow entertainers to be vigilant about working with the promoter moving forward.

“If you hear that name — run in the opposite direction,” she cautioned.
