**YEREVAN** — Alen Simonyan has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia by a decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Simonyan succeeds Armen Grigoryan, who was dismissed from the post by a separate decision issued by the Prime Minister.
Prior to this appointment, Simonyan served as the Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly.
