Al-Rawi Questions Home Invasion Bill’s Protection of Squatters

Opposition Senator Faris Al-Rawi has raised questions regarding the proposed Home Invasion bill. The main point of his inquiry is whether squatters, or individuals with no legal claim to the land they occupy, would be included in the protections offered by the bill. Specifically, Al-Rawi wants to know if these individuals would be legally entitled to defend themselves against intruders, despite the lack of legal ownership of their living spaces.
