CAIRO — Air Cairo has finalized an agreement to purchase 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft, marking the airline’s first direct order with the manufacturer. The deal includes options for an additional 15 aircraft.
The agreement was signed at the El Alamein International Airshow 2026. This acquisition represents a strategic shift for the Egyptian carrier, which is moving from a fleet model based primarily on leased aircraft toward a structure that incorporates both owned and leased capacity.
The expansion is part of a broader effort to increase tourism capacity within Egypt. Air Cairo, a subsidiary of EgyptAir, operates as a low-cost carrier serving both domestic and international routes.
