Afghanistan are likely to host India for a three-match T20I series in Delhi this September, according to ESPNcricinfo. The matches are expected to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on September 13, 15, and 17. If confirmed, this would be the first time Afghanistan host India on Indian soil. Afghanistan have regularly played their home matches in India, using venues like Lucknow, Dehradun, and Greater Noida, but have never faced India in a home series. The series falls between India’s Test tour of Sri Lanka and the Asian Games. India have struggled in recent white-ball cricket despite being T20 World Cup champions, losing T20I series to Ireland and England. Afghanistan last played T20Is at the T20 World Cup in India, winning two of four matches but failing to reach the Super Eight. The schedule is yet to be officially confirmed.
