Adino Stephen Girod, a 40-year-old from Moruga, was called to the bar in Port of Spain on July 18, marking a significant achievement against the backdrop of his life-altering accident 21 years ago. At 20, he fell from a rooftop, resulting in paralysis and leaving him as a quadriplegic. Despite the challenges, Girod found purpose in his journey through law, spurred on by a friend’s encouragement and his mother’s support. He earned his LLB in 2020 after overcoming physical pains and emotional struggles during his studies. Now, as he embarks on a legal career, he aims to inspire others with his story of resilience, challenging young people to recognize their potential and face their fears. His family, proud of his accomplishments, has received warm congratulations from the community, highlighting the impact of his journey beyond personal achievement.
