Social activist Umar Abdullah, represented by attorneys Keron Ramkhalwan and Fayola Sandy, has issued a formal pre-action letter to the Police Service Commission (PolSC). The letter threatens legal action if the commission doesn’t respond within 14 days to Abdullah’s complaint about the Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro wearing the ‘Punisher’ emblem on his official uniform. Abdullah, leader of the New Wave Movement, initially filed a complaint in July 2025. He urged the PolSC to prevent Guevarro from wearing any symbols associated with The Punisher, arguing that it undermines professionalism and institutional integrity. The Punisher symbol, linked to vigilante justice, raises concerns about police accountability. Abdullah’s lawyers are demanding that the commission either initiate disciplinary proceedings or provide reasons for its inaction.
