She accessorized with a “W” necklace and red lipstick, and her hair was styled in long, glamorous waves.
The following day, Williams attended a Dennis Basso event alongside restaurateur Max Tucci, her niece Alex Finnie, and Finnie’s fiancé Eric Houston. Reports indicated that she appeared to be in good spirits, donning a yellow tweed suit with white sneakers and smiling broadly.
Williams has been under a court-ordered guardianship since 2022, initiated after Wells Fargo expressed concerns about her capacity to manage her own affairs. Her lawyer has stated that they are awaiting medical test results to determine the next steps regarding her guardianship. Despite recent reports suggesting that the guardianship arrangement has been upheld, Williams has denied the allegations that led to it and has expressed a desire for more control over her life and finances.
Her family is actively seeking to have the guardianship dissolved. In June, her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, filed a $250 million lawsuit against her guardian and others involved, but Williams’ legal team later requested the case be dismissed, indicating she did not wish for it to proceed.
In a letter submitted to the court, Williams’ attorney, Allan Diamond, argued that it was too early for her to be deposed, as they are still gathering medical assessments from leading neurologists and neuropsychologists. He mentioned that while some testing has been completed, they are still waiting for further results before making any decisions regarding her guardianship.
Williams’ family has expressed their desire for her to be released from the facility where she is currently receiving treatment for frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Her brother stated that the family is present and willing to care for her, emphasizing that she does not need to remain in a facility.
In August, it was reported that Williams had been diagnosed again with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Following a welfare check that led to her hospitalization, Williams spoke about her health, asserting her choice to seek an independent evaluation regarding her capacity.
In a statement released in February 2024, Williams expressed gratitude for the support she has received following her diagnosis, highlighting the importance of personal space and peace for her well-being.
