Carapichaima East Secondary School has solidified its status in school football by securing promotion to the Premiership Division. The Central Trinidad institution is now seeking urgent sponsorship to maintain its competitive edge. Over the last decade, Carapichaima East has dominated local football, winning the Central Zone Intercol title six consecutive times since the return of sports post-COVID. The school has reached every Intercol final during this period, finishing as runners-up last year and accumulating a total of 12 Central Zone Intercol championships, far outpacing rivals like Presentation College and Chaguanas North.
Despite facing resource challenges last season, the team won the Zonal Championship and the National Big 5 title, marking their promotion to the Premiership Division as the only Central Trinidad school at this level. Team manager Lynelle Marchan emphasized the need for financial and material support to remain competitive. She noted that the post-COVID landscape left them vulnerable to other schools that have more resources. Marchan highlighted the importance of sponsorship for uniforms, transportation, training equipment, and nutrition to ensure their athletes can compete at the highest level. The call for support extends to businesses, alumni, and community leaders, as the school aims to carry Central Trinidad’s banner and challenge for national honors. Those interested in assisting can contact Marchan directly.
