Water Supply Disruption in North-East Trinidad

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, parts of North-East Trinidad will face a water supply interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. due to necessary desilting works at the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant. The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) announced this disruption as a step towards improving water production at the facility. Affected areas include Sangre Grande, Sangre Chiquito, Manzanilla, Coalmine, and various other locations. Following the completion of works, it may take up to 12 hours for the water supply to normalize in some areas. WASA has established a Customer Call Centre for truck-borne water delivery or further assistance. WASA expresses regret for any inconvenience and appreciates customers’ patience during this time.
