A police constable from the South Western Division’s Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) remains at large after reportedly threatening his wife and others with a service-issued firearm. The incident, which took place in Siparia on Monday, is being treated with grave concern, according to Snr Supt Thompson. The officer, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, arrived home in his police uniform and a marked vehicle. Following an argument with his wife, he reportedly drew his weapon and made threats before leaving the scene in the police vehicle. The constable’s firearm and 15 rounds of ammunition were later found near his home and returned to the police station, but attempts to reach him have so far been unsuccessful.
