U.S.-Owned Factory Targeted in Massive Russian Aerial Assault on Ukraine

In one of the most intense aerial assaults of the ongoing conflict, Russia launched approximately 574 drones and 40 ballistic and cruise missiles against targets in Ukraine. The overnight attack impacted multiple regions, including western Ukraine, and has been described as the most significant wave of aerial assaults since August 2025. Among the primary targets was a U.S.-owned electronics factory in Mukachevo, operated by Flex and known for manufacturing civilian items like coffee machines. The attack caused injuries to at least 15 people and resulted in the destruction of storage facilities. In Lviv, missile strikes damaged 26 homes, leading to one civilian death and injuries to three others. In total, at least 18 people were reported injured across all affected regions. Despite the Ukrainian Air Force intercepting a considerable number of incoming drones and missiles, several hit civilian infrastructure. The attack highlights Russia’s ongoing strategy of using large-scale drone and missile assaults to weaken Ukraine’s economy and infrastructure, irrespective of peace talks led by the United States and its allies. Western officials have condemned the attack, with particular emphasis on the targeting of a civilian American-owned facility as a significant escalation.
