I am traumatized and living in fear for my life

Soca artiste Kern “Trinidad Killa” Joseph has announced that he is seeking asylum in the United States, citing ongoing threats to his life and safety if he returns to Trinidad and Tobago.

In a statement shared on his verified Instagram account, Joseph said his life has been under “constant threat” for some time. He alleged that a woman has been publicly scandalizing his name, spreading false information through the media, and issuing threats against him. According to Joseph, the woman also claimed that her husband — a police officer attached to the Tunapuna Police Station — would kill him should he return home.

“I am traumatized and living in fear for my life and my family’s safety. Enough is enough. The world needs to see what I am going through,” Joseph wrote. He added that all he wants is “peace, protection, and justice.”

Joseph’s post has since drawn attention online, with many of his followers expressing concern and offering support. While he has not disclosed details of his asylum application, his statement highlights the challenges faced by public figures who say they are under threat.

This is not the first time Joseph has been in the public spotlight, both for his music career and for past controversies. However, his latest revelation marks a significant development, as he appeals for international protection and human rights recognition.

Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago have not yet issued a response to Joseph’s claims.
