Seven individuals were apprehended in a strategic operation called ‘Summer Slam’ in the Northern Division on August 18th, 2025. The operation, led by several high-ranking officials including ACP Simon and W/Snr. Supt. Maynard-Wilson, targeted offenses ranging from ‘Shooting with Intent’ to ‘Malicious Damage and Arson’. The suspects ranged in age from 21 to 47. Two others were arrested for ‘Malicious Damage’ and ‘Driving Under the Influence’. In addition, a 24-year-old man from Laventille was detained following the granting of a Prevention Detention Order by Minister of Homeland Security, Roger Alexander. Investigations into these cases are currently ongoing.
